Both were beautiful locations for two family session this last week and suited each family perfectly. The kids had room to run and things to explore – what could be more fun than that?
First the farm… The mom just knocked on the door of the farmhouse and asked if she could have her family photos taken there. The sweet lady that has lived there for over 50 years said that would be just fine. (thank you!)
The kids Grandparents were there as well and I was able to get a few precious photos of them. They clearly adore the kids!
Now, many of my clients know that my favorite images are not your usual family portraits. This one was taken while trying to get into position for a close family photo. Check out litte Mr. C in the middle – he knows what is coming. ha, ha! I would pick this for my walls over a traditional family photo any day of the week. (though the one that came after it is beautiful as well – but they’ll just have to wait for their gallery…)
“That is a wrap”, “Session is over” – often after this is said it seems like I always snap a few that really tug on my heart. So here, dad through little S over his shoulder on the way back to the car and I couldn’t resist!
Then the gardens… Fun, unique, genuine – those are the words I would use to describe this family of four. We had fun outdoors before the rain came and then headed inside. It was one of those days where I’m very glad I always have umbrellas packed!
Now A here – could see a camera a mile away. It cracked me up that she would be checking for the camera even when I was a mile away with a long zoom lens – like in this photo.
Sweet little I and his mom. This one reminds me that I need more photographs like this of me and my kids before they are all big.
Now for the whole family. Granted, I have some beautiful photos of the whole family for them – but this one just screams “Motherhood” to me. We all look for some help from above at some point in the day.
