And no… I’m not having an absolutely yummy Caramel Macchiato right now – but I wish I was! I dare you to just say Caramel Macchiato in your best fake Italian accent and try to not smile. See! Now don’t you feel a bit better? It is worth a try when it’s that time in the afternoon where you feel like slipping into a coma. You know – when something, ANYTHING, with a good shot of espresso in it would do the body (and sanity) good.
Nicole is a busy mom who works at an engineering company, volunteers at Junior Achievement (I’m having flashbacks of making maroon & gold coasters in high school. If you did a JA “business” with your class in school – you know what I’m talking about.), and is a mentor with the children at local elementary schools. If that isn’t impressive enough – she is mom to the cutest little boy. M was two years old last summer when I photographed him and he certainly had the energy and personality I love about that age. You know, I have this theory that if everyone just ran after a two-year-old for 30 minutes 3-5 times a week, they could chuck that expensive gym membership or sell their old exercise equipment (you know, that thing under the laundry?).
What is your favorite Mother’s Day memory?
Well, M was born the day before Mother’s Day in 2005, so that was the best Mother’s Day gift I could ever ask for.
What three words would you choose to describe yourself as a mom?
Loving, a Multi-Tasker, Easy-Going (most of the time!!!!)
What three words would you choose to describe your mom?
Giving, Family-Oriented, Helpful
How would you describe a perfect Mother’s Day?
Sleeping in, breakfast in bed and a nice long massage!!!!!
Kids are always making us smile or tear our hair out… is there a recent quote from your kiddo or a funny antic you’d like to share?
Yes… just last week, someone told M… “See you later alligator” and his response was “I’m not an alligator!!!!” I thought that was the sweetest.
If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would it be and why?
Probably Lightning McQueen… not for me, of course… but for M… who ADORES that movie Cars.
What book are you reading now?
The Wedding, by Nicholas Sparks
note: Oh – I hope you have enough kleenex! His books are incredible and always make me cry buckets. I haven’t read that one yet though. Allergy season has my eyes tearing up and my nose running enough as it is!
What is your all-time favorite book or author?
The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks… (I’m a huge fan!!)
What is a favorite children’s book at your house?
All of them… I just love children’s books. But, The Little Golden Books are always a fav!!!! I loved them as a kid too!!
If you could take lessons to learn a dance, which dance would you choose and why?
Probably the samba… or something fast paced… also a good way to shed a few lbs!!!!
If you could change careers with someone for a week, what career would you choose?
An interior designer… always a dream of mine. They have the best job!
note: You absolutely could do that Nicole! I’ve seen the inside of your house and you definitely have a talent for beautiful design.
Even though “green” is the new black… taking care of the planet we live on has always been important. Do you have a favorite activity or tip that your family does to save the world one little bit at a time?
We try to conserve water. I remind M & my husband to shut the water off while brushing their teeth. Otherwise, they would keep it on all the time. Also, I just purchased some of those canvas grocery tote bags to use for our small trips to the store – instead of getting the plastic bags each and every time!!!!
How would you describe your experience from your Simply Life Photography session?
M does not sit still, like most 2 yr old boys… so we wanted to do something different than the posed portraits… so Mary Beth was perfect… he was able to run around the yard, house… and she caught some of the most precious and “M” moments ever. I get compliments all the time on the pictures… and what such a beautiful job and “eye” she has for a photograph!! Thank you Thank you!!!
